Work Location:  Naval Station Norfolk, VA and surrounding local area

Roles & Responsibilities:
Supports a dynamic US Navy Facility that specializes in operation, maintenance, and readiness of experimental US Navy watercraft by performing the following duties:
Responsible for the installation, service, and repair of marine electronics, communications, navigation, and electrical systems.
All work will be performed safely in accordance with industry standards and best practices.
The technician will troubleshoot equipment onboard naval boats and test craft, check functionality of newly installed equipment, and evaluate systems’ performance under actual operating conditions.

Work Conditions:
Most work is accomplished outdoors or in an industrial environment where temperatures will vary depending on location.
Conditions typically include 45% standing, 25% walking, 20% sitting, 5% reaching, and 5% lifting.
Ability to carry materials weighing upwards of 75 lbs. 
Must be able to wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for work tasks assigned.
Shift hours may vary due to mission requirements and may be assigned on short notice.

Education/Experience/Skills:
Minimum of 2+ years of direct military and/or maritime electronics, electrical, or C4I systems repair experience Excellent written and verbal skills.

Must be organized and be able to multi-task Strong interpersonal skills are required.
Working in a team environment May work outside normal hours of operations as mission/fleet support requirements dictate.

Clean driving record High School diploma or equivalent Ability to read, write and follow technical directives correctly.

All candidates will be required to pass a consumer report and/or consumer investigation to include SSN, Driver Record and Criminal Background Investigation U.S. Navy or Coast Guard electronics training preferred

U S Citizenship Employment requires, at minimum a U.S. DoD Security Interim Clearance prior to start, a Secret clearance must be granted & maintained throughout employment.

Must pass pre-employment physical to include Physical, Drug Screen, Vision & Hearing testing, Medical Condition Certification and back x-ray.
