Work Location: Naval Base Ventura County, Point Mugu, CA 

Roles & Responsibilities: 

The candidate will function as an aerial target mechanic helper at the Point Mugu Target operations and maintenance facility. The successful candidate should have knowledge and training in general repair and operations. Experience on military aircraft is preferred but not required. Experience in organization level repair of engines and structures is required. Candidate should be able to read and interpret Material Safety Data Sheets and other technical documentation related to aircraft operations and maintenance. The employee will be expected to utilize his or her knowledge to assist and provide support in execution of tool control program as well as other NAMMP programs as directed by supervisor. The employee will be expected to perform additional miscellaneous tasks as assigned, any needed instruction will be
provided. The candidate shall have a working knowledge and experience with basic hand tools.  

Work Conditions: 

Conditions will vary. Most work accomplished in enclosed buildings. They will include 45% standing, 25% walking, 20% sitting, 5% reaching, and 5% lifting. The employee must be capable of lifting 50-100 pounds assisted by other employees. 


2 years of general maintenance and repair experience, military background preferred. 

Communication skills and experience in the use of personal computer (PC) applications such as Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel.  

Current California driver’s license required. 

U. S. Citizenship required. Must obtain a U.S. DoD Interim Security Clearance prior to hire date, final clearance must be granted and clearance must be maintained throughout employment.
